Physical Therapy (PT) includes hands on techniques directed to joints and muscles, as well as a variety of other manoeuvres to recruit, strengthen and re-educate the neuromuscular system. Our Physical Therapists aim to build the physical abilities of children with special needs by minimising limitations in body functions and structure.
Through physiotherapeutic play, our therapists progressively work on improving muscle coordination and strength, range of motion, motor learning, acquisition of balance, cardiopulmonary health and movement patterns.
We follow a highly specialised, evidence-based approach which is based on the concepts of International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF, WHO – 2011). This is supplemented with modern and distinctive features such as spider cage, specialised resistance equipment and bodyweight supported treadmill training and allows our committed team to deliver the best neurological rehabilitation for children with special needs.
Our therapists use an interdisciplinary approach and work together with other professionals to integrate physical therapy along with a combination of hydrotherapy and other complimentary tools from speech, occupational therapy and vision therapy, thus expanding it beyond a traditional model of care to treat the child broadly and more effectively.
